Welcome to The Black Horse

The Black Horse is a traditional pub on the southern edge of Leicester. Situated in the Old Aylestone Conservation Area, we're doing our bit to try and keep some old traditions alive: we still have open coal and log fires in winter; we serve good beer; we have a traditional bar, lounge and snug; our large beer garden is popular on sunny days with its grassed, fenced-in children's play area; there's live music from time to time and our annual beer festival, based in the skittle alley bring the whole village out for a weekend.

The local pub for local people lives on in Aylestone.

The Black Horse

The Black Horse is proud to be the home of Robinsons Football Club, who continue to go from strength to strength. We're also home to the Whetstone Dark Horses skittles team, the Black Horse darts team, as well as the Black Horse Racers darts team.
We're also delighted to be used as the Bowline Climbing Club's socialising venue on a Wednesday evening, as well as providing a meeting place for the Aylestone Meadows Appreciation Society.
Also on Wednesdays, the smell of two-stroke permeates the back-streets of Aylestone as we welcome the Leicester Phoenix Scooter Club, the city's longest-running scooter club, parading a fine selection of Vespas, Lambrettas etc. You can also find members of the East Midlands Roleplayers group playing various rpg, board and card games here from time to time. See their website for more info.

Carols in the PubThe Black Horse also enjoys a happy association with the Spirit of Aylestone, which represents the four churches of Aylestone, working together for the benefit of the community, and we're looking forward to more Carols in the Pub this Christmas after last year's resounding success.
